Focus and Scope

MMG 445 Basic Biotechnology provides students with an opportunity to discover and report on current topics in the broad areas of biotechnology, applied microbiology, and pharmacology.

Biotechnology
Analytical, in silico, food, plant, chemical and pharmaceutical biotechnology, protein and enzyme technology, commercial enzymes, biochemical engineering, biocatalysis

Applied Microbiology
Ecology and industrial microbiology, techniques, host-microbe interactions, microbial classification and identification, cell regulation, microbial diversity, growth and development, antimicrobials, genomics

Pharmacology
Cardiovascular and renal, cancer, immunomodulation, antiinfectives, new technologies

Peer Review Process

Each manuscript is reviewed by three anonymous student reviewers as well as by the faculty. Under most circumstances, the initial review process will be completed within seven days of the time of submission.

Manuscripts are evaluated based on scientific merit and conformance to the journal style. Manuscripts must be within the scope of the journal and free of any instances of plagiarism, fabrication or falsification.

 

Publication Frequency

Articles will appear on-line on as soon as corrected author proofs are available.

 

Archiving

Publisher acknowledges that Licensee participates in the LOCKSS system for archiving digitized publications. Licensee may perpetually use the LOCKSS system to archive and restore the Licensed Materials, so long as Licensee's use is otherwise consistent with this Agreement. Publisher further acknowledges and agrees that, for the purpose of repairing damage to or loss of another LOCKSS system's copy of Licensed Materials, Licensee's LOCKSS system may make Licensed Materials available to that other LOCKSS system provided that the other LOCKSS system had previously proven to Licensee's system that it had the same Licensed Materials.
